The final assignment is to summarise the whole techniques and works that we have done and to understand the design proposal of the project. Based on the module Constructed Landscape for Assignment 2: Site Analysis and Inventory for Park, this is a continuous assignment integrated with the module Constructed Landscape. The requirements for this assignment is to propose a design proposal for a park visitor centre in the given park. The park that I was given is Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya, in Kelana Jaya which is a community park. For the module Introduction to Drawing, the design proposal is to include a one person office inside the 25 metre x 20 metre area proposed size and also orthographic drawings in two boards.
Through this assignment, I knew I was lacking with techniques that could not be learnt in the past assignment and I did not perform well for this assignment either. I learnt that time management on the progress of the boards are very important to finish up the boards. It is rather a disappointment for me because I took too much time colouring the boards and neglecting the techniques that are required.
I have learnt to think critically for the techniques and requirements for the assignment.It is difficult for me to solve the initial stage of the assignment because it was new to me and I was still unfamiliar during the progress. I found solution to each obstacle but still produced an incomplete work.
As an individual assignment, it challenges my skills in drawing and colouring with concentration. It gives balance to teamwork and mostly individual skills. It enhances my discipline towards my own self. Logical thinking is also included in the process of finalizing the assignment.
Since the assignment is based on the specific knowledge that is done in the theories, this assignment lets us include the knowledge learnt into action. Orthographic drawing leads us to better understanding of the techniques and skills involved.
