The first assignment is given as the introductory to design. The approach of this assignment is to come up with a clear idea of design principles and design elements to be based on the graphic journal titles and topics. Main goal of this assignment is to set up a foundation for us to implement all these learning into future assignments. There are three categories to be research on, which are design principles, design elements and patterns. We were to look on geometric patterns and come up with our own geometric patterns as a final.
The first assignment is more towards theory and understanding of each design term that are required for research purposes. It was rather easy to find the terms in books and on the Internet and translate into each page on the phobook journal. Through this assignment, I learnt many new design terms and their meanings in detail.This helps me to furrther understand the categories of these design terms into design elements, principles or patterns. Thus, this made the fundamentals learnt into a booklet and future assignments too. I had a rather fun time to research on and write on the research into a booklet surprisingly.
