BETTER URBAN SPACES IN KL
Introduction
​
As the first site analysis about the site context and every single element on the city, the second assignment that was given is on the city that is situated in various place in the capital of the city, Kuala Lumpur. The aim of the project is for us to look into the environment in the city and focus on the urban planning, public spaces, about people, jobs and activities, basic public facilities, transportation, connectivity and green sustainable initiatives.

Conclusion

In concluding the project did come up with many issues which makes us confused from the start. We had problem with scale of the city as we did not know that we need to look into the scale of the model. Since our scale is 1:1250, we had an A1 size paper map template that is given to us, but then problems arise when we needed to find out whether each roads and building is at the right scale through Google Earth and Google Maps. It was tough at first as I was using the scale ruler for the first time and did not know how to measure the scale on the master plan and map.
During presentation, it was more than nerve-wrecking as it was the final product of what we made. I felt extremely nervous for this presentation because it was the project that has been corrected many times and there are areas that are still lacking on the model and presentation boards.
